My Black Velvet Alocasia is Flowering.

This past week I have been watching my beloved Alocasia Reginula ‘Black Velvet’ develop a flower pod and today it surprised me by having burst open.

I have been taking photos to document the development of the flower pod to share on here. So here it is;

And then… Today, 7/2/2020

At this stage, the flower dosnt have any scent. But that may still come.

Sadly I don’t have a second flowering plant to have a play with fertalisating the flower. I am told by another grower that after this flower I will get a heap of new bulbs develop and next season I will have a glut of new plants. I guess time will tell.
